A Series of Unfortunate Disasters...

It's only February and 2010 has already seen several major natural disasters around the globe. I feel like I'm living in the movie "2012."

A violent winter storm battered four countries in Western Europe today, killing over 60
Chile was hit by an 8.8 magnitude earthquake on Saturday, killing over 700
A blizzard described as Snowmageddon paralyzed the Northeast two weeks ago
A 7.0 magnitude earthquake wreaked utter destruction on Haiti, killing over 200,000 in January

Meanwhile in Washington... (as portrayed by Rolling Stone)

The GOP doesn't care about uninsured people.

During the widely speculated health care summit on Thursday, Rep. Slaughter (D-NY) told an emotional story about one of her constituents who wore her dead sister's dentures because she could not afford her own. While normal human beings would feel compassion for the woman, see what these Republicans said:

Rush Limbaugh: "So if you don't have any teeth, so what? What's applesauce for?"
Glenn Beck: "I've read the Constitution before. I didn't see that you had a right to teeth."
Jim Hoft: "Will Obamacare buy me a gold tooth in the front of my mouth with a little heart on it?""
Michelle Malkin: "We need trillion-$ Demcare cuz someone had to wear their sister's dentures!"

GOP has not only proved that they don't care about uninsured people, but they don't care about unemployed people either.

My question is why Democrats are still bothering with this bipartisan nonsense when it clearly won't get them anywhere. Rolling Stone contributer Matt Taibbi puts the differences of the two parties into a perfect analogy:
"They have one major stylistic difference: Republicans are unafraid to exercise power, while Democrats try to run government like one of those pansy-ass T-ball leagues, where every kid gets to have a hit, nobody loses, and nobody has to go home with an ouchie or hurt feelings."

Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon on New Years Eve!

They were sooo cute on stage while Nick deejayed and they danced together at M2 in NYC. Mariah is every bit as beautiful as she appears in her pictures. She got in a few songs too. Highlight of the night!

New Years Eve in the VIP World

I'm SO FLIPPING EXCITED! Us Weekly magazine asked me to cover the party at M2 tomorrow night --- hosted by none other than my favorite singer of all time (except for T.I.) MARIAH CAREY! <3 Oh and obviously Nick Cannon will be there too. I CAN'T WAIT! What to wear....

Gabourey Sidibe at Duracell

I interviewed Gabourey Sidibe at the Duracell Smart Power Lab in Times Square today. For those of you who don't know her, she's nominated for the Golden Globes Best Actress for her role in the movie Precious. She was a total sweetheart! Look out for the feature in Us Weekly magazine! Man, I love my job.
